Strictly couple Dianne Buswell and Joe Sugg announce they’re expecting first baby

Strictly Come Dancing couple Dianne Buswell and Joe Sugg are expecting their first baby together, and it’s a boy.
The couple, who met on the sixteenth series of the BBC dance show when they were paired together, announced the happy news on social media.
‘Our little baby boy ❤️ we cannot wait to meet you,’ they wrote in the caption, alongside a gorgeous video of them painting an announcement picture on a canvas.
Soundtracked by Elton John’s Tiny Dancer, Strictly professional Dianne, 36, and YouTuber Joe, 34, unveiled the sweet drawing of them holding hands with a little person, and titled it: ‘2026.’
Friends flocked to congratulate the pair, as Stacey Dooley commented: ‘YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES.’

Johannes Radebe said, ‘Congratulations darling, wonderful news,’ as Amy Dowden said: ‘Still screaming, dancing and celebrating! So so happy for you both! Magical 💙🥹💖 auntie Ames can’t wait xxxx.’
Shirley Ballas said: ‘Ahhhh congratulations to you both. Such beautiful news.’
Zoë Sugg – aka Zoella – commented: ‘The best news everrrrrr!! Can’t wait to be an auntie again and meet him!! His big cousins are going to take the BEST care of him.’
Meanwhile, Strictly’s Carlos Gu said: ‘This is the best news I’ve heard this year. I know how much you guys wanted a babe and still remembered how we planned around your schedule Di, makes me giggle. Sending my love to our little boy. X.’
Conor Maynard added: ‘Let me know when he’s old enough for a new “Singing Impressions” video. Or even a sing off. The views have been drying up lately.’
Dani Dyer said, ‘This is amazing 🥹🥹🥹 congratulations to you both,’ as Vito Coppola said: ‘THIS IS BELLISSIMOOOOO. The first Strictly baby. Cannot wait to meet him and I promise to be the best crazy Italian uncle. Congratulations guuuuuuuys I am so so sooooo happy for you.’
Strictly pro Nancy Xu added, ‘YEAHHHHH!!!!THIS IS THE BEST NEWS !!!! I CAN’T WAIT TO MEET HIM,’ while BBC Strictly’s official Instagram page said: ‘So happy for you both! Huge congratulations from the whole Strictly family.’
This news comes just five days before Strictly’s season 23 kicks off, with Dianne expected to be paired up with another celebrity. When asked by a fan whether she will be on our screens given the news, Dianne confirmed her participation, as she replied: ‘I will be.’
Having met on the BBC show in 2018, Joe and Dianne confirmed their relationship after the Strictly final with a social media post following much speculation over their relationship status.
Sharing a photo of the two gazing into one another’s eyes, Joe wrote: ‘I may not have won the glitter ball, but I’ve won something a million times more special.’
The pair finished as runners-up after Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton, who are also in a relationship, took home the glitterball trophy.
Professional dancer Dianne previously revealed her desire to start a family with Joe in the future, explaining: ‘Joe is the most supportive person.
‘I’d love to have a family one day, and I know Joe would love a family too. That would be our dream one day.’
The couple live together in an impressive five-bedroom £3.5million property, complete with six reception rooms, a fully-equipped gym, a cinema room, and a sprawling garden.
Dianne was paired with Joe – the first YouTuber to take part in the competition – just one year after joining the Strictly Come Dancing team, while she was dating soap star Anthony Quinlan.
A few months after they split, Dianne and Joe then went public and in the years since have offered updates on their relationship.
Before the announcement, Dianne’s ex Anthony had denied they’d ended things because of the Strictly curse, and were still ‘good friends’.
At the time he said ‘distance played a part’ in them breaking up and there were ‘all these rumours about the Strictly curse but it wasn’t that’.
‘I’m actually rooting for Joe and Dianne. They’re doing absolutely amazing in Strictly and I still think the world of the girl. We were really close, it just wasn’t meant to be,’ he said ahead of the finale.
