Victoria gives David Beckham health update after star hospitalised with painful injury

Sir David Beckham has returned home after being hospitalised when a two-decades-old injury flared up.

Yesterday, the 50-year-old retired footballer’s wife, Victoria shared a photo of her husband in a hospital bed with his arm in a sling as she posted a heartwarming message of support.

Taking to her Instagram story, the former Spice Girl posted a snap of Sir David smiling with the blue sling on show as he lay in a gown in bed.

‘Get well soon Daddy,’ she captioned the picture.

Since then, however, the former Spice Girl has shared a video on Instagram of her husband wearing a sling and gathering cucumbers (yes, really) from the Beckhams’ garden.

The Telegraph reports that Sir David was in hospital for an operation to treat an old footballing wrist injury that dates back to 2003 when England played South Africa.

In the video, David can be seen surveying a pile of vegetables as Victoria says ”So this weekend’s vegetable content” and joking that ‘[Sir David] is overperforming on the cucumber front.’

David then jokes, ‘I’m not sure you can say that, darling!’

The candid clip will no doubt put fans of the Beckham family at ease, and the surgery comes at a whirlwind time for the Manchester United legend, who celebrated his 50th birthday earlier this month.

He was also awarded a knighthood in the King’s Birthday Honours, but that has been somewhat overshadowed by rumours of a rift with son Brooklyn Beckham.

Reports of tensions in the Beckham family first resurfaced when Brooklyn, 26, and his wife, Nicola Peltz, 30, didn’t attend any of Sir David’s 50th birthday celebrations, despite all his other children attending.

Since then, he has made it clear where he’d rather be, vowing to ‘always choose’ Nicola, whom he wed in 2022, with a seemingly very telling Instagram post.

While no one involved has directly addressed the reported feud, David and Victoria have made several declarations of love for all their kids, Brooklyn included, on social media.

Proud son Sir David, who was recently awarded a knighthood, uploaded a series of childhood photos to his grid, writing: ‘Thank you for always being there for us all’.

Fashion icon Victoria hinted at some big party plans in the comments, adding: ‘Happy birthday Sandra xx we love u xxxxxx can’t wait to celebrate you!!! Xx’

However, Brooklyn has failed to acknowledge his family’s special occasions, while still posting birthday messages for Nicola’s loved ones.

It’s believed that Victoria is desperate for Brooklyn to end his feud with his own father, with a source close to her telling Metro that she is ‘heartbroken’ over how things have changed.
